Writing does take a certain amount of skill and there’s no doubt that it just comes naturally to some people. Finding the right person to sell your products is an essential part of any business but unfortunately, there are many writers out there who are producing substandard work.
Many of my clients are those who run affiliate websites and are looking to promote a variety of products – before I started this job, I never thought that I would be able to tell you what to look for in a lawnmower, or what the best pair of speakers should involve. But writing product reviews, buyers guides and the like has given me an excellent insight into a whole world of products.
How Can I Help You Sell Your Product?
One of the first things that puts writers like me in a good position to sell your product is that we have a good grasp on language.
For some people, it can be difficult to put across a sense of passion in writing but for seasoned writers, this comes as second nature.
There have been times in my career that I have had to write about products that I didn’t know the first thing about. But my ability to research and learn meant that I could put together a convincing piece of writing, with all the relevant technical information. This means that the reader, likely someone with a good knowledge of the product, can understand and appreciate why this product might suit them.
But this isn’t something that comes easily to everyone…..
There are writers out there who do not have the relevant vocabulary to sell a product and you can find thousands of examples of this all over the internet. Poor quality writing will use the same adjectives over and over again, and this can take away from the excitement you are trying to convey.
I remember speaking to one client who told me that a writer he had used previously had used the same adjective throughout every piece of work and I can only imagine how infuriating this is. But I always aim to use a variety of descriptive words to make the text interesting and engaging as well as giving the product a boost.
What Else Can I Write?
Being a good writer doesn’t only depend on being able to put together a decent product review, although this is a big part of what I do.
In contrast, I do a lot of creative writing and this is something that I am really passionate about.
Furthermore, I often write blog posts and informational articles for many of my clients. I have recently finished a very interesting project that required a lot of research, a lot of typing hours and many, many creative paragraphs and I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed it.
